Obituary
Michael Theddore Tatem, was born in Richmond, Virginia on May 21, 1988. He departed this earth on June 22, 2007.
Michael accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of the Zion Baptist Church, Lottsburg, Virginia.
Michael was educated in Northumberland County Public Schools, Richmond Public Schools, and Henrico County Public Schools Systems. He graduated from Highland Springs High School on June 13, 2007.
Michael was an avid musician and participated in many ensembles at school and in the community. He was a member of the Marching Band, Pep Band, Jazz Band, and Concert Band at Highland Springs High School. Michael was awarded the Most Outstanding Baritone Player at the 2007 Johnson C. Smith University High School Band Day, Charlotte, North Carolina. He also received the Most Improved Senior Award at the 2006-2007 Band Awards Banquet. Michael was a member of the 'Get Real Entertainment' Group and Studio.
He leaves with wonderful memories his mother, Evelyn G. Tatem and father, Michael T. Tatem; one sister, Shawque Grant (Gerard T. Bright); three grandparents, Linda Roots, Ruth Tatem, and Archie Grant; six aunts, Phyllis Grant, Cheryl (Fred) Phillips, Ruth (Henry) Gilliam, Linda Tatem, MacBeth Tatem, and Roberta Drummond; two uncles, Reginald Watson, III and Roy (Liz) Tatem; two great-aunts, Barbara Overton and Margert Boone; two great-uncles, Harry Tarleton and Robert (Lucy) Drummond; one niece, Shakira Bright; and two nephews, Ramon Bright and Dashawn Bright.
Five devoted cousins, Teosha Grant, Tanesha Grant, Tasheka Grant, Tonisha Tatem and Brenda Gilliam; two devoted friends, Walter Pitchford and James Woolfolk; a host of other relatives, friends and band families.
