Welcome to another action-packed year with the Highland Springs High School Band Program.

We are in need of your help! Please review the list and if you feel you have the dedication and time to serve please contact the President or Band Director. We need your support to make this a successful year for our band program!

COMMITTEES and RESPONSIBILITES

Auxiliary Moms
Assist the dancers, flag girls and Auxiliary Director with uniforms. Make sure they have everything they need before each performance (games, competition, etc.)

Chaperones
Supervising and escorting groups during all away games, home games, out-of-town trips and special events.

Concession Stand
Concession stand volunteers work at all home games, including junior varsity (JV). Volunteers are responsible for setting up, cleaning up, cooking, taking food orders, collecting money for items purchased. Concession stand volunteers work on a rotating basis.

Equipment
Assist with handling, fixing and transporting equipment when needed to games and events.

Hospitality/Special Events Planner
Hospitality plans the year-end banquet to be hosted in May. Coordinate snacks for special concerts, events and band family day.

Medical
Ensure that we have all medical forms completed on each student. Medical books must be taken on each trip (games, competitions, etc.) and it must be one for each bus. Administer urgent care in emergency cases until emergency medical technicians [EMT] arrive to treat student/patient.

Security
Responsible for the welfare of band members, inventory of band assets, instruments, security of buildings, concert sites; increase band awareness of safety issues.

Telephone
Assign a dedicated parent to each section (brass, woodwind, flags, etc.) to call with information (meetings, upcoming events and band needs) regarding the band.

Uniforms
Help organize and distribute band uniforms. Ensure that uniforms get to and from the cleaners in a timely fashion. Help with alterations of all uniforms as needed.

Ways and Means
Assist the band director with fund raisers. Research ways for the band program to raise money to subsidize band expenditures.
