HSHS Music Department Spring Excursion
to Busch Gardens
Meet the bus at Highland Springs HS
This year, the HSHS Band will be traveling to Busch Gardens, Williamsburg to serve as a reward for the hard work and dedication they have shown to our school and community. We will be traveling by charter bus. The cost of this trip will be $50.00. This will include admission to the park as well as transportation. Season pass holders will only have to pay the transportation cost.
Travel Date: May 19, 2012
Time of Departure: 9:00am (arrive at HSHS by 8:30am)
Departure from Park: 10:00pm
Arrival at HSHS: 11:00pm
Deposit: $10.00(Due by May 1 to hold your seat)
Final Payment Due: May 15, 2012
We are also inviting the HSHS Orchestra and Select Choir members as well to reward them for their hard work and fundraiser support. So please pay your depositASAP! Seats are LIMITED!!! Make all checks payable to HSHS. Remember, ALLREMAINGING BAND FEES MUST BE PAID BEFORE WE CAN ACCEPT PAYMENT FOR THIS TRIP!!!
Cost
The cost for this trip is $50.00, however, there have been a number of fundraisers applied to the total cost and consideration is given to those who helped with them.
Highest amount sold by student for fruit=free
2nd Highest amount sold by student for fruit=1/2 price-$25
3rdHighest amount sold by student for fruit= ½ price-$25
If you sold fruit and cookies, your cost is $30.00 and $0 if you sold 10 or more fruit items.
If you sold fruit and did not sell cookies your cost is $40.00.
If you did not participate in either fundraiser, the cost of your trip is $50.00
Meals
All meals are on your own. We will not be returning to the buses at all during our stay at the park, so bring a small bag or backpack with lunch& dinner to carry into the park or plan to buy once in the gate. Plan accordingly. Remember, all bags are subject to a search.

Hammer – Hard Work
The hammer is the hardest worker in the toolbox. From hanging a picture to building a house, it works hard to find a solution. Its vigor, determination, and stamina make it easier for everyone to complete their jobs. Are you HSHS Band’s Hammer?
Flashlight – Knowledgeable & Resourceful
Flashlights help you find what you are looking for. If they don’t immediately have the answer, they will assist you in the search to eventually shine light on the solution. Are you HSHS Band’s flashlight?
Tape Measure – Team Player
Tape measure measures distances, is flexible and can bend, and is available for a variety of projects. This member will always be the one willing to go the extra mile. There is no need to check to see if the tape measure is measuring up. Are you HSHS Band’s Tape measure?
Wrench – Creativity
When you find you’re stuck, you can always go to wrench to twist out a few good ideas. The wrench can always go a few turns to finish the job and come up with creative ideas. Are you HSHS Band’s wrench?
Wood Glue – Commitment
Wood Glue is all about commitment and cohesiveness. This person keeps the group together and focused on accomplishing shared goals. This person is a pleasure to work with as they are continual source of encouragement. Are you HSHS Band’s wood glue?
